KEY DATES

When is 2024 Benefits Open Enrollment?

Benefits Open Enrollment begins Nov. 6 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 20.

When will my elected benefits be effective?

Benefits selected during open enrollment will become effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Are there any other times when team members can make benefits changes?

Changes are only permitted to benefits elections after Nov. 20 if a team member experiences a qualifying life event such as a birth, adoption, marriage, divorce or death of a dependent. 

What happens if I miss the deadline for Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment cannot be extended past the final date of enrollment. Unless you have a qualifying life event, you will be unable to enroll in benefits until the next year's open enrollment. When will I receive my insurance ID cards after enrolling in benefits?

After enrolling during the open enrollment period, insurance cards will begin being mailed out prior to the Jan. 1, 2024 effective date.

  1. Benefits enrollment directions will be sent to team members in Greater Peoria, posted on My Care Compass and shared in Open Enrollment emails.
  2. Attend an onsite benefits support session between Nov. 6 and 17.

How can team members learn more about benefits plan details?

  1. Benefits plan information, scenarios and 2024 premiums have been posted to benefits.carle.org.
  2. Review weekly Benefits Open Enrollment emails from Human Resources about voluntary benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), health insurance, dental insurance and vision insurance.
  3. Attend an onsite benefits support session between Nov. 6 and 17.
  4. Check out resources on My Care Compass.

What’s new for 2024?

In 2024, Carle Health is pleased to offer a new hospital indemnity insurance plan. Hospital indemnity coverage can assist with the payment of costs associated with a hospital stay. 

Team members may carry over a portion of their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) balance into the following year. This allows them more time to use their FSA.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

I'm getting an error message when trying to complete Open Enrollment. What should I do?

Please contact Human Resources by phone at (217) 902-5300 or through email at MyHR.HelpDesk@carle.com for troubleshooting assistance.

What happens if team members don’t do anything?

If a team member doesn’t make any changes between Nov. 6 and 20, their current elections for all benefits, except Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts (HSA), will carry forward into the 2024 plan year. Team members must reenroll in Medical, Limited, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts to participate in 2024.

Can I complete Open Enrollment from home?

You can complete your benefits at home by visiting staff.carle.com. If you have issues with your at home access, you will need to contact your IT help desk for further assistance.

What happens if I won't be at work to complete Open Enrollment?

The open enrollment link can be accessed by visiting staff.carle.com. Benefits is unable to extend the enrollment period, so please make arrangements to enroll during the active dates.

What if I need to make changes after submitting my Open Enrollment?

As long as open enrollment is still open, we can reopen your link upon request. Please contact Human Resources at (217) 902-5300 or through email at MyHR.HelpDesk@carle.com.

Why can't I add my dependents to my benefits?

Dependents must first be added under the Dependent information screen in the Open Enrollment link.

What do I need to submit to add my children to my benefits?

After enrolling an eligible child to your plan, you will need to submit a copy of the birth certificate to MyHR.HelpDesk@carle.com or by fax to (217) 902-7800.
